monetary offering that often takes place in church - la ofrenda

The money is used to pay for utilities and other bills for the building, and sometimes there are specific purposes, like to support missionaries, build a new church, for a certain ministry, etc.

Is the money so offered used for missionary or charity purposes or is it for some other purpose ? - 00b055e0, Apr 10, 2014
and dear if you could once again tell me how to post a picture here (I remember you had tried explaining it once before but you know me .. I am just a little dodo,, hehe) .. thanks - 00b055e0, Apr 10, 2014
right click the image and select *copy image location.* go back to your post, and click on the picture, and then paste the image URL into that. The URL can only be one line, otherwise it will not show. hope that helps! :) - actorgirl, Apr 10, 2014

Jimmy1978 -Very good list . . .

  • If you go to flashcards, [in the drop down above under Learn, then scroll down to Browse All Flashcard Sets] and type in any of these words for the search: religion, scripture, Bible, Christian - you will find lists of flashcard sets. They are a great resource from which you may find additional words to add to your list. After that I hope you will bless us with a flashcard set you create from your list.

Like you - I once was perplexed about how to add pictures - but this is explained in more than one place in SD. In fact, maybe I can simplify that a bit more - as I have copied that link below. . . How to post a picture

I would also like to point out that the Church is the body of Christ. It is made up of the people, not the building. So while we refer to the building as the church, it is really the body of believers, and the building is the church building. I hope that makes sense. smile

Hmm ..So what should we call the the building ,, I don't think there is any special term or word for it .. If I call it El edificio de Iglesia it may sound strange to many .. So I think the term Iglesia could be interpreted either ways - 00b055e0, Apr 10, 2014
depending on the context of-course .. what do you say :) - 00b055e0, Apr 10, 2014
yes, the term iglesia could be either I think, but I don't know for sure. :) - actorgirl, Apr 10, 2014
hmm - 00b055e0, Apr 10, 2014

It's great .One thing i would correct is that Mass is not only prayer but rather celebration that contains prayer, readings and songs.

Es muy bueno .Una cosa que me gustaría corregir es que la Misa no es sólo la oración sino que celebración que contiene oraciones, lecturas y canciones.
