Making Small Talk in Spanish

Question

Do you find yourself at a bit of a loss when you're thrown into an informal social situation and you need to make small talk in Spanish?

If so then I hope that this lesson will be useful.

Kiwi girl ...es muy bueno y interesante aunque, para mi, no había mucho nuevo que aprender, jajaja

Usualmente, digo..."¡está/s en su/tu casa!" (Make yourself at home!) pero mis padres me dijeron hace mucho tiempo que cuando vivían en Perú (en mi país de nacimiento) los nativos les decían " ¡Mi casa es su casa!" en lugar de "¡está en su casa!" Me doy cuenta de que los modismos cambian de vez en cuando ¡y por eso no estoy seguro si, hoy en día, los nativos siguen usando esta expresión...o no!

también, se puede decir: está riquísima = It's very tasty /it's delicious
