I am giving a presentation about England, in Spanish. I've put together what I want to say and translated it into Spanish - how could I improve what I have done? In particular, I want to make sure that the Spanish is correct.

England is an island in Europe. It is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. To the north, it is bordered by Scotland and to the west by Wales. Ireland is on a separate island. The climate of England is temperate. Because it is an island, the weather is very variable, with a lot of rain. The rain makes the countryside very lush and green. England has nine beautiful national parks, including the Lake District, an area with many lakes and mountains where you can find Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. Here you can go climbing, cycling or walking in nature.

The official language of England is English, but for nearly three hundred years, between 1066 and 1362, the official language was French.

The currency of England is the pound. The service sector dominates the economy of England with many international students coming to England to study. Some of the main exports include heavy machinery, such as planes and cars.

The population of England is just over fifty three million. England is very multicultural, with inhabitants who have come from all over the world. The second most spoken language is Polish, with nearly half a million people having it as their first language. This multicultural influence is seen in many ways, for example, a typical English dish is Chicken Tika Massala, a curry dish, as well as foods such as fish and chips or roast beef. Italian foods such as pasta and pizza are also very popular. The most popular drink is tea, but many people also like drinking beer.

Morris dancing is a traditional English dance. The dancers wear bells on their legs and dance to lively music with sticks or handkerchiefs in their hands.

The capital city of England is London and is one of the most popular tourist destinations, with many museums and famous buildings, such as Buckingham Palace where the queen lives and the houses of parliament, where you can see the famous clock and bell of Big Ben. This is the main government building of England. However, there are also many other interesting places to visit outside of London, such as Cornwall, where there are lots of fantastic beaches, and historic monuments, such as Stonehenge, an ancient stone circle which is used as a calendar.

I do live in England you know!!

How is the Spanish? Does anyone have any corrections for me?

I know there are many different types of food, but I wanted to use the phrase plato tipico...

I know that the whole way the UK is described, how many islands it is, that England is just part of one island, that Ireland is in two halves and only one half is part of the UK is very complex, but I've only done one years worth of proper Spanish tuition!! I don't think my teacher will mind too much if I simplify it a bit...

Thanks very much for all your kind comments - it's very helpful to me and nice to know that people bothered to read it all! I have a few more weeks to practice my speaking in...
