His contributions to this forum are fabulous, fabled, fanciful, and occasionally sprinkled with folderol (sorry baby), but more importantly they are always informative and wildly popular - hence his legendary reputation.

In addition to being one of our most beloved members and prolific posters, Ray is now one of our newest moderators. Moderating takes up a tremendous amount of time but he still finds the time to keep us entertained with his thought provoking translation exercises and educational, often hilarious musings.
We are very lucky to have him here at SD. He has innate wisdom, a passion for learning and a zest for life that is contagious.

To say that I am happy ,thrilled overjoyed and a little embarrassed by all the wonderful words and feelings conveyed in this awesome post of Margherite would be an understatement. And yet it is what we here on SD have come to expect from each other , we all show a great degree of respect and genuine feelings of love and friendship which makes SD a cut above any other language site on the net. I try hard to convey this to all the "newbies" as they tentatively ask a question for the first time , I well remember how terrified I was with my first post , and my surprise to be enveloped quickly by loving words from older members , forgive me if I have ever been short or impulsive to anyone , but it is only because "I care" , If we can all care for each other , then the world is a great place. Thank you Maggy May , for such an outstanding post , it has set the benchmark for us all .

Ray, Ryan-air has a special offer on at the moment: They take badges in exchange for air-miles to Europe. You do have to fly in Fokker and there is not that much legroom ( I know, I flew from Amsterdam in one two days ago..) but I look forward to you cashing in on all those badges and booking your flight. At last you can cash in on all your studies on SD, it's brilliant.

I do not know why so many of you give Ray positive strokes and feedback. He is but an old bushman who wandered one day into the city, got disoriented and now cannot find his way back to the billabong. All your kind words only encourage the old mischief and destroy whatever modicum of sensibility might have remained in him.
If you do not stop, we'll have to tolerate his nonsense for another 5.000 jumped up badges. I shudder at the thought! Ray is a legend in his own mind and as Eric Bogle states in one of his songs, Ray is B I G ... in a small way.
