"Make her laugh" = "Hazla reir"?

I heard a native say this, but shouldn't it be "Hazle reir"?

Hmm, good question. Logic says that it should be "Hazla reír" because ella ought to be a direct object here, not an indirect one. "Hazle un favor" - favor is the direct object and ella is an indirect object.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I think it can probably be either, provided it is a female who is to be made to laugh.
