Alguien me puede explicar de donde vino la palabra "regrésamos." (Así se deletrea) Nunca la he usado. Normalmente uso regresemos. "Ellos quieren que regresemos." ¿Será de Mexico? La verdad es que no sé. Me ayuden por favor. Les agradezco anticipadamente por su respuesta.

regresamos is the present of regresar...and regresemos is the subjunctive. there is no accent unless you say queria que regresáramos

I agree with you. I had this debate with her so I decided to google and sure enough it is used in text as well- accent and all. (Not the past subjuntive: "regresáramos" but "regrésamos") Just research it a little. Because people do use it. It doesn't sound correct to me. It sends pins and needles down my spine. HAHA! Google the word and let me know. It strikes me wrong when she says it and she was born there and has been speaking it her whole life. I have been studying spanish for the longest time and this is the first time that I took the chance to investigate this. I know that someone knows because it is in text as well. Once again I still do not buy that it is correct however it may be specific to a certain region(s).

I started googling it! She uses in the present subjunctive. Looks like you will have to copy a few links or just google the word with accent and all. - jphip, Mar 26, 2014
i just answered your question - Rey_Mysterio, Mar 26, 2014
Here is another example: That I just read: José Luis Martínez Clares26 de abril de 2012, 10:19 El fútbol quizá sea el escenario que dio cobijo a nuestra infancia y al que regrésamos devotamente cuando la ocasión lo requiere. Saludos Responder - jphip, Mar 26, 2014
Another which as the proper present and the the other: Al final del día, mi companera de viaje y yo les ayudamos a acomodar las mesas y sillas y de alli nos regresamos al Condado de Orange y casa. Nos regrésamos llenas de gratitud por ser parte de Alc - jphip, Mar 26, 2014

that it the 2nd imperfect subjunctive and future. Seriously, I added text below show it portrayed in articles. It is very weird to me. - jphip, Mar 26, 2014

I just asked my mom about it and she said that it could be a mistake similar to like when they say "puedamos" for "podamos." that's a common mistake and its bad Spanish...its like how we say pusistes, hablastes/havlastes, distes. its the same. oye ya le dijistes que viniera a las 7? its more informal than ya le dijiste que viniera a las 7
