-azo suffix

Question

Azo suffix is used to indicate a blow or strike. My question is how do you use the words in a sentence that end in the suffix -azo. Ex. Puñetazo(to punch with a fist) hachazo(to blow or chop with an ax)

El ladrón me dio un puñetazo y salió corriendo, ahora me duele la cara. (The thief punched me and fled, now my face hurts.)

El jugador quiso darle un cabezazo a la pelota pero terminó golpeando a otro jugador sin querer. (The player wanted to give a head butt to the ball but ended up hitting another player accidentally)

The "azo" suffix has two meanings.

1. Blow or stike with or from... (resulting action). Is commonly used to signify a blow given by or with the root noun. No english equivalent. In english is necessary to add the words blow, hit and so on to convey the meaning found simply in this spanish suffix. Puño=Puñetazo (blow with a fist, punch), codo=codazo (shove with an elbow), guante=guantazo (slap with the open hand), latigo=latigazo (whiplash), zapato=zapatazo (blow with a shoe), etc...

2. -azo (masc) and -aza (fem) it's also a suffix meaning: augmentative: animal=animalazo (large hulking animal), bigote=bigotazo (large mustache), éxito=exitazo (smash hit), bomba=bombazo (great big bomb), barca=barcaza (barge), madre=madraza (doting mother), boca=bocaza (big ugly mouth)
