el rendimiento vs la salida (Output/Performance)

Question

Hi Every One,

Well, It seems to me that both of these words "el rendimiento and la salida" mean the same, which is to say "OUTPUT", however in certain dictionaries the meaning of rendimiento is given as performance (Which is also akin to the meaning "output"). I request you all to kindly help me figure out if there is any subtle difference between the two words (When used in the sense of output as I know that the word la salida also has an other meaning which is "An exit" or departure like at the aeropuerto). ..

I have already referred to many dictionaries including SD but am still unclear on what is the difference (if any).

If some one could also give me some examples around both of these words,. I would immensely appreciate the help.

1: It means the '' to improve the output'' of the plantations.

2 : salida impresa is technical output for printing fotos etc. Your input is the entrada: Example from some printing instructions: se refiere a los dispositivos de salida, generalmente impresoras, y es el numero de píxeles por cada pulgada o centímetro que el ordenador envía a un dispositivo (como la impresora) para imprimir.

Otro ejample: tengo un problema con el ordenador, la pagina de salida muestra el código javascript. The output is in Javascript.

Salida is a very multipurpose word.

But Annie, What is the meaning of " la salida mostra javascript" .. I think you wanted to say " la salida Muestra javascript" (the output shows Javascript).. may be it is a typo error :) - 00b055e0, Mar 22, 2014

Annie, if I understood you correctly, the word rendimiento refers to the output of plants(factories) or agriculture and salida is more used in connection to printing devices or computers etc. Am I correct ? - 00b055e0, Mar 22, 2014

I have taken out these examples from SD with respect to the two words being discussed here:

1. Rendimiento : trabaja para mejorar el rendimiento de las plantaciones agrícolas' / 'He works in order to improve the performance of the agricultural plantations'.

2. Salida : Salida Impresa/Hard Copy.

I am totally befuddled and confused :( .. Please help me out some one (with context based examples if possible).. Thanks In advance.

To me, output is produccion as in, the total output of the country/ la produccion total del pais. performance: rendimiento( how muh more/less you are producing in a certain time)
