Language Schools in Spain
Hey, everyone!
I was wondering if anyone knew of any language schools in Spain that they recommend for a post-college graduate. Everything I've seen via googling has been geared towards students.

Some years ago I spent two weeks at Don Quijote in Salamanca. I am not at your level, but enjoyed myself. Most schools offer group or individual lessons or both. I suggest you decide where and when you want to go and how long and ask again. I chose Sala manca as it is an area of Spain with one language,but you may be interested in other languages eg Barcelona Catalan Valencia Valenciano or Galicia - fascinating but wet - Galego. Seville and Granada are lovely but andaluz accent can be tricky. l suggest you choose a town with a University and if you have time try two different areas. Buena suerte.
I went for a week's course last autumn to a small language school in Vejer de la Frontera. They were fabulous and geared everything to whatever you wanted, although they would probably not have enough students of your level to form a group, but they were very good with one to one lessons and making up small groups of similar people.
I enjoyed it tremendously because it was very friendly. As Mardle says, it could be combined with visiting a bigger school elsewhere, perhaps.

I have already answered this, but will give more information. I have been to a number of language schools, treating it partly as a holiday and enjoying cultural trips and exploring. I have had some lovely visits to Mexico as well as Spain. I don't know what you want to gain nor for how long you are going.In the UK a language degree usually includes a year living and studying in the native country. If you are passionate about the language I thought learning some Catalan or galego or babel or Basque may appeal. Why I suggested a town with a University was it would be good for intercambios etc but many Universities offer language courses which may cater better for your needs. If I was travelling from the USA assuming your first visit, I would spend time in a city eg Sevilla with flamenco great tapas and near to Cordoba, Granada,Jerez and Malaga for day or weekend trips Then spend time In a different area eg Oviedo, or Santiago in Galicia or perhaps Pamplona further north . When I have been to schools they have had extra lessons available on music, history or linguistics. Having said andaluz was tricky, I realised many of the NewWorld explorers came from the South so no problems for you.
