My teacher keeps telling me how to say hair in Peru but I can't remember. It is something to do with the verb wash. She said that she said "pelo" in Peru and they said that it was used for animal hair or dog hair or something

Pelo. Está formada de la misma sustancia, la queratina, que es la proteína que forma las uñas, el pelo y las escamas de otros especies.

Animal hair and human hair are actually exactly the same, made of dead fibers. The same substance as your nails and the hooves of horses.

Wool is usually referred to as lana but I gather the wool from llamas se llama pelo.
