Here are a couple of responses from elsewhere on the web (showing how easy Ian-Hill's suggestion is):

MAY-roe MAY-roe

Spanish slang for the best, the top, the greatest. Can also be can be used to refer to a leader of a group. can also say mera mera when referring to a femenine subject. there was no way to talk to the Don, he was the mero mero of the gang, always surrounded by his thugs.

K-paz are the mero mero of el pasito duranguense!!!!!!!

It is better translated to the English slang phrase "The main man" also if you were to ask in Spanish for a specific place the answer would be like "it is right there" or "Ahi mero" ( right there) or "Are you done?" the answer would be "ya mero" (almost there), also "the top of the top" is better translated to " el de mero arriba"

"El mero mero" would probably translate well as "the one and only"
