What's the difference between "incrementar" and "aumentar"?

These two words both mean "to increase". Any different usage between them?

Looking at the definitions they appear to be interchangeable.
They are similar to the English words, increment and augment. So I would think the nuance would be that augment is more general in nature without any reference to the amount of increase where incrementar would likely refer to something that is rising in measurable steps. But that is just my opinion.
I took a second job to augment my income.
I got an incremental raise at work.
Well both are synonyms and can be used interchangeably. Like in english we can either say ,, please raise my salary or we can say please increase my salary ,, likewise in spanish we can say por favor me aumente mi sueldo or por favor me incrimente mi sueldo ,, I dont think there is any difference
