THe Argungu fishing festival is an annual four-day event in North-western Nigeria. Fishing is only allowed once a year,that is during the festival. On the final day, a competition is held in which thousands of people line up along the river. At the sound of a gunshot,all of them jump into the river. They have just one hour to fish.The winner is the person with the largest fish and he can win up to $7,500.

We have two big festivals. One is 'Caribana', a festival of Carribean culture and traditions. The other is the extremely controversial 'Pride Week' one of the worlds biggest Gay Pride festivals. Both attract hundreds of thousands of people every year.

Here in Minnesota, in the Twin Cities, one of the biggest festivals we have that I've been to is our Irish Fair. It goes for a couple of days, and there are many traditional Irish things to see. They have different sporting games, Irish bands, and other things for people's entertainment. But best of all are the craft tents. There are so many beautiful handmade things, jewelry, clothes, boxes, swords and knives. It's amazing. I really enjoy that because I myself am mostly Irish, and am descended from the ancient kings. Getting to go to our Irish Fair gives me a feel for what my ancestors' lives were like. It's a really cool experience for me.
Aquí en Minnesota, en las Ciudades Gemelas, uno de los festivales más grandes a que tenemos que he ido es nuestra Feria del irlandés. Va para un par de días, y hay muchas cosas tradicionales irlandesas para ver. Tienen diversos juegos deportivos, bandas de irlandeses y otras cosas para el entretenimiento de la gente. Pero lo mejores de todo son las tiendas de artesanía. Hay tantas cosas bonitas hechas a mano, joyería, ropa, cajas, espadas, dagas, instrumentos hermosos. Es increíble. Realmente disfruto eso porque yo soy sobre todo irlandés y soy descendiente de los antiguos reyes. Llegar a ir a la Feria del irlandés me da una sensación de cómo era la vida de mis ancestros. Es una experiencia increíble para mí.
