Difference between "Guapa" and "Hermosa"
I speak with a lot of spanish speaking people in South Texas and Mexico. When complimenting someone, particularly if it is someone I am interested in, which is more meaningful, saying "que guapa" or "que hermosa"? I have wondered about the difference between the two for a long time. Thanks!

In fact the meaning is the same for hermosa, guapa or bonita. But we use it in different contexts.
For example, for woman in Spain is more common use guapa, like Rajaji said in SouthAmerica is more common to use bonita with a woman, but in Spain is more common use bonita to talk about things than people. And hermosa mean the same but talking about people it sound a little bit strange, is more common use hermosa with a landscape or a scene.
María es muy guapa. ¡Qué hermosa puesta de sol! Me gusta tu collar, es muy bonito.

Depends of where the girls are from. Latinas is a very broad term. Any person mindly educated should understand any of those terms.
Now, these terms are used interchangeably in different countries even in regions within countries.

I'm not very good at Spanish, but here is what I think. Don't quote me on this though.
"Que guapa" is a more general term. It means "what a cutie" or "how pretty", stuff like that. So you'd use this more for little kids, girls, or pretty things. "Que hermosa" means "beautiful" or "gorgeous" so you'd probably want to use this one for people you are closer to.
