From pitar (to honk).
If someone were for example going to be waiting in a car for you and you wanted him to honk the horn upon arrival; you would say: Al llegar échame un pitazo.
If someone "te echa un pitazo," then that person will warn you or let you know about something using a horn or a whistle. Though, it also has some sexual connotation too. Pitazo: sign given with a whistle or horn.
