Working on use the word ´Was´
Hola, I have been creating some flash cards to work on using the word ´was´ in sentences. I flash the English sentence and then work on using the correct form of Ser/Estar with the correct Preterit/Imperfect tense. I think I have the uses correct in the below sentences but I'd like to be sure. If anyone can let me know if there are any mistakes it would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug.
He was a teacher. Era profesor.
She was going last night but then couldn't. Ella iba anoche pero luego no.
Last year I was painting for a living. El año pasado estaba pintando para ganarse la vida.
I was small as a child. Era pequeño como un niño.
The party was fun last night. La fiesta fue divertida anoche.
He was a sailor in his youth. Era un marinero en su juventud.
It was 9am when the woman came to the door. Era nueve del a mañana cuando la mujer llegó a la puerta.
