What might be equivalent Spanish idioms for " I'll be done (or be back) in 'two shakes of a lamb's tale.' " - I am looking for idioms that mean roughly "really soon or right away" - Just as "in a jiffy" is roughly an equivalent idiom in English - for that one 5th ed. U. of Chicago Spanish dictionary ofers "en un santiamén."

Have you tried our phrase book mate , there should be any amount in there covering it. - ray76, Feb 13, 2014
Certainly I give you a tip of the hat for your going well beyond the call of duty in helping make the phrase book. I did try it before posting here, but took a look again - as you prompted me to think of the English equiv. -"quick as a wink" . Thanks. - Esteban_317, Feb 13, 2014

"in two shakes of a lamb's tail"

  • Meaning: "in a very short time", "very quickly" (because lambs shake their tails so fast)
  • The origin is unknown, but it is thought to have originated in the U.S.

Spanish equivalent option:

"En menos que canta un gallo" (in less time than a rooster sings)
