Help with a few things

Question

I have to record in Spanish for my Spanish class. The post has to be about a vacation to anywhere in the world, and it has to be in the present tense. Words like Fuimos, hubo, etc those are all past tense correct? After I record myself, I will post the written here for someone to critique. I will do it after I post it though, because I cannot have translation help. My professor said no running the post through an online translator...I guess some of you might be considered that.

Voy Malasia con mi amiga mejor. Visitimos en la primavera por ques es calor, pero no muy calor, u hay las floras es floreciente. Lo es tropicál y vemos flora y fauna muy interesante. Visitimos amigos viven en Malasia y comimos much comida tradicional. Vamos playa bronceado en el sol, y nadamos en el mar. Visitimos Petronas Towers, el torres muy alto. Tenemos el tiempo muy bien.

I did realize later I should have said las torres muy altas.

Y'all can correct my Spanish!

HI Actorgirl.

I thought I would try to give you a little help with pronunciation on some of the words. I tried to get jist of what you were saying and improvised where I couldn't quite understand it and just kind of glossed over It would be fun to see it written out. Your pronunciation is really pretty good. Sometimes the accent is falling on the wrong syllable so it makes it sound a little off.

The 'which syllable to stress or accent' rule is pretty simple:

If the word ends with a vowel, or an 'n' or 's', the accent falls on the next to the last syllable.

If the word ends in a consonant except -n or -s the accent falls on the ** last** syllable. .

If the word does not follow the above rules, you will see an accent mark over the stressed syllable.

Bear in mind written accents are also used to differentiate between words that are pronounced the same but have different meanings.

I didn't worry about the grammar (not my forte) just the pronunciation. Great job overall Hope it helps a little.

Muy bien el esfuerzo, actorgirl. Conserva esta grabación y escúchala dentro de unos meses.

Tienes que prestar atención a las sílabas tónicas, pues pronuncias palabras llanas como esdrújulas, y la verdad es que cuesta entenderlas. Me refiero a "visitamos" y "tenemos", que tú pronuncias "visítamos" y "ténemos".

A ver si la próxima vez has corregido esto, y poco a poco mejorarás.
