I am living in Spain and meet a few different groups on specific days during the week for language exchanges (Spanish & English). One of the groups are two women and we've only meet three times over the course of about four months; they always are cancelling because they are busy with other things. We meet on Fridays so, yes, it isn't an ideal time. However, I am the foreigner so when we don't meet I really don't have anything to do and get somewhat lonely. Plus, I have a crush on one of the girls. I asked if we could change the day to meet more frequently but Friday is the only day they can meet.

Is it unreasonable for me to tell them that I don't think we should meet anymore because it is a waste of time?

I can only tell you what I would do.

I would stop trying to set the date to meet. If they called me to cancel or the next time we met I would say "OK, call me when you want to get together (again)". Then I would look for other things to do. If they called and I did not have anything better to do I would probably go but if I had plans I would let them know. If they never called again then I really wouldn't care.
