Words from Letters – 2

Word games are very popular in the English speaking world.

This is a new version. It replaces the old 9 letter game.

The idea is to make words of 3 or more of the given letters.

These are the 15 letters for this challenge.

A Y B L S

D E E N D

T N F I M

There is at least one 14 letter word this time.

Find an English or Spanish word and then write a sentence in English and Spanish.

There is no limit to the number of answers.

Update: The idea is to practise as many words as possible.

Example:

Good style is a matter of opinion.

Buen estilo es una cuestión de opinión.

This was the previous challenge

There is no "official" corrector for this game so please make suggestions where you can.

I love your word Susy, but Margherite disagrees with C.S. Lewis :-) In my humble opinion, having pride in what one does makes a person strive to do better and pride in the way one conducts themselves, promotes a sense of well being and therefore attracts - 0095ca4c, Feb 7, 2014
friendship and love from others. I'm not proselytizing...just my personal opinion. Thank you for the opportunity! :-) - 0095ca4c, Feb 7, 2014

de satisfacción personal en lo que uno hace y que como dices tú te da seguridad en ti misma. Uno es soberbio, el otro no. Pride in having pleasure and feeling good from success is very different from the other pride of that egocentric self love. -- I hope - 00e46f15, Feb 7, 2014

Absent-mindedly - Distraídamente

The Duke absent-mindedly fingered the rim of his goblet, his eyes fixed on the woman on the opposite end of the table. The silence grew thicker.

At last, the Duke sighed, signalling his defeat. "It shall be as you say. Just.. don't let my wife know."

El duque distraídamente dibujó el borde de su copa con su índice, fijando la mirada en la mujer al otro lado de la mesa. El silencío se volvía más opresivo.

Por último, el duque suspiró, admitiendo la derrota. "Voy a hacer lo que dice. Sólo... no deja a mi esposa saber."

I appreciate corrections, since I had to do a lot of improvisation for the Spanish. Didn't have any idea how to 'signal defeat or 'finger the rim of a goblet' in Spanish, lol. - Helado_eclectico, Feb 7, 2014

I don't know the Spanish equivalent for goalee, so just used 'player.' Goal is another word I wasn't sure about. Please correct. Thanks! - Findy, Feb 7, 2014
the goal = la portería / a goal = un gol / goalkeeper = portero - ian-hill, Feb 7, 2014
I've seen 'arquero' , but portero apparently translates to goalie better (more hits). The goalpost is 'portería' or 'linea de gol', as per Wikipedia. - Helado_eclectico, Feb 7, 2014
