what is the main difference in meaning from a verb in its infinitive form and a verb in its conjugated forms? how does its meaning change when it goes from infinitive form to a conjugated form?

What's the difference between 'to eat/eating' and 'I/they/he/she eat/eats/ate/would eat/will eat/were to eat/'?
The infinitive also can't be used as the main verb in a sentence.
The main meaning change is probably that conjugated verbs always have an associated person and can represent different tenses. In contrast, the infinitive has no affiliation with any person and is tense-less.
