Cuando hubo un paro------When there was a strike

Me fui a visitar el faro-----I went to visit the lighthouse

Pero me salio muy caro--but it was too expensive for me

Ir en taxi y no en carro---traveling in a taxi and not in my car.

Mi amigo Alvaro-------------My friend Alvaro

Dicen que es bien Avaro--They say he is very mean

Le gusta jugar con aros----He likes to play with hoops

Y tomar mucho guaro------And to drink a lot of spirits.

Si la moto no hubiera traido un faro bien claro, estaría agotado por haber viajado toda la noche.

If the motorcycle had not had a very clear headlamp, I would be worn out from having traveled all night.

At the top of the hill, as distant as strange,

A relic of the past, stood the only grange

En la cima de la colina, tan distante como raro,

Vestigio del pasado, estaba el único granero

Old grange

I was trying to have a word that 'double rhymes' in both languages. Granero doesn't rhyme as well with raro as grange does with strange, but you can't get the best of everything in life, hehe. - Helado_eclectico, Feb 2, 2014
