"Al lado de" vs "junto"
One is a preposition and the other is an adjective. Is this the only difference?
El carro está al lado de la calle.
El carro junto la calle es viejo.
Are both of these correct? I'm having a hard time between "junto" and "al lado de". Thanks for any help!

El carro está al lado de la calle. - the car is close/next to the street.
El carro junto a la calle esta Viejo.- the car near/ close to street is old. You got to use "junto a" to make it a preposition. Just "junto" in the sentence does not sound ok. Estoy junto a ti- I am near you. Si estamos juntos, podremos progresar- If we are united, we could progress. I am your closest friend- Soy tu amigo mas cercano.
