Hubo or Habia in a specific sentence

Question

If i were to write "There was more to see" would it be Había or hubo? Also, how would you say "more to see" in spanish

We go with había because you are referring to a time in the past without a specific beginning or end. Thus the imperfect tense.

[ habia muy poca comida en la mesa, pero mi padre habia ido al supermercado a comprar mas.] Kind of complicated this Spanish Language, ain't it?....and I am native speaker.

'were lots of laughs', I think, but not too sure. I wish there was some simple, one sentence rule for imperfect vs preterite. For subjunctive, the 'non-declarative sentence' tip works in all scenarios. - Helado_eclectico, Jan 31, 2014

Había más para ver? I don't think Hubo is used much, but this is just my take on it.

Linguee doesn't list this phrase, nor does any of the sites I usually check :(
