I'm not sure where you are based, my local farm shop in England sells romanesque cauliflowers. They are a pretty bright green with lots of pointed florets almost like broccoli. They are slightly more expensive than cauliflower and not as widely available. I cook them as I would cauliflower. Incidentally if you are not sure put the word in google and press image or go to a Spanish supermarket web page eg Carrefour and put the item in. I am sure in the USA they will have other large online retailers. In the UK for English words, Tesco or Sainsbury are good. For a wider range John Lewis [eg furniture etc]

thanks.....I tried googling etc but came up with nothing. Your answer sounds just like the photo of some of the veg in the bag. I am in Valencia, I am English but have never seen any of these bright green pointy florettes before...thanks again. - Janeinspain1, Jan 29, 2014

I should have checked your profile - love the central market in Valencia. Here is an image: enter image description here I see in the seed catalogue it is 'Romanesco' In my view it is prettier and less bland than cauiliflower.

Enjoy it.

I have eaten these and they are delicious. I got mine for the first time at a local farmers' market in Scotland. - Findy, Jan 29, 2014
In England they don't seem to have as long a season as cauliflowers, but they do taste good. - Mardle, Jan 29, 2014
