This week's quiz - Spanish Transitional Phrases
A good sign of fluency is the ability to make smooth transitions when conversing in your target language.
This week's quiz allows you to test your knowledge of some fairly common Spanish transitional phrases.
If youre not familiar with many transitional phrases you might like to practice first, so I've also made some Transitional Phrases Flashcards.

I must be a bit stupid.
I could not find a way of answering question 7 so could not progress to the following questions.
I think I took it. No, I did... but I didn't see the result at the end.
Thanks for the quiz!
Still broken, and highly frustrating. I spent like twenty minutes tearing my hair out before realizing that the thingies arranged themselves properly at the end of the whole thing, lol. You need to make it not do that. It is way too confusing.

The examples are great, and I can actually grok the significance of por último over al fin. al fin/finalmente carries a connotation that you were/someone was waiting for the event to occur. - helado electrico
Well done, although I'm not sure what grok means jeje
Esto es lo que dice la RAE:
fin. (Del lat. f?nis).
al ~. 1. loc. adv. Por último, después de vencidos todos los obstáculos.
por ~. 1. loc. adv. U. para expresar con cierto énfasis el término de una situación de espera.

In other words "al fin" means "at last" after overcoming all obtacles, while "por fin" means "at last" something you have been waiting for finally happened.
Actually I've gone back and refined that question as I think it could have been clearer and I've added more info which I hope will help.
No. 7 still has problems.

Necesitabamos agua para dos días, pero no llovía. Al fin/Finalmente, llovió el lunes ~ We needed water for two days, but it did not rain. At last, it rained on Monday. - rain was being expected/hoped for
Por último has the connotation of 'in the final place/time or 'after everything else had occurred'.
Comí carne de vaca, arroz y por último helado. ~ I ate beef, rice and finally ice-cream. - the eating wasn't being hoped for/aspired, but it occurred after all the events
Of course, I am not sure about this intuition, so if there's anything wrong with it, please don't hesitate in pointing that out. Once again, thanks KG!
Tosh I think I took it. No, I did... but I didn't see the result at the end.
Thanks for the quiz!
