(a) menudo ( mehNOOthoh )

adverb ( often )

We are looking for someone to correct the Spanish sentences. Contact me if you are interested in helping others to learn Spanish. Please help each other with corrections as you are able. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words!

How to post a picture

Examples:

1. Mi hermana mayor padece a menudo de migrañas.

My older sister often suffers from migraines.

2. Voy a menudo a la librería de mi vecindario. Puedo pasar horas viendo qué tesoros consigo en los pasillos.

I go to my neighborhood bookstore often. I can spend hours seeing what treasures I can find in the aisles.

Notes:

1.The "a" may be short, but it's an important word in this case. Without it, "menudo" is an adjective meaning "small" or "slight".

A menudo, pienso que tengo un buena idea para 'la palabra del día', pero dudo en enviarlo. ¿Qué pensará la gente si cometa un error? Hoy hago acopio de valor y enviar algo. Nada te libra como librarse del miedo de ridículo.

Often, I think that I have a good idea for 'La palabra Del Dia', but I hesitate from posting it. What will people think if I make a mistake? Today I managed to work up the courage and posted whatever first came to mind. Nothing liberates you more than liberating yourself from the fear of ridicule.

Courage

El experto de las cosas sobrenaturales dice que a menudo los “fantasmas” son el resultado de condiciones psicológicas, tales como las alucinaciones hipnagógicas , y él no está hablando de los fantasmas, sin que de la gente que vea a los fantasmas.

The expert on the supernatural says that ''ghosts'' are often the result of psychological conditions , such as self-induced hallucinations, and he is not talking about the ghosts, but rather about the people who see them.
