Oral Exam (yo necesito ayuda)

Question

Hello everyone! I have an oral exam on lunes and I have a script that I made up and memorized. Please ignore the spelling. I would love to hear any mistakes I made or anything you recommend me add, but nothing tooo complicated that is on this level. Gracias.

1. Weather (I am a weatherman)

Muy buenos dias! Mucho gusto mi llamo es Vincente. Hoy es lunes. La fecha es trece de enero de diciembre. Son las once y media. Hace mal tiempo. Hace frio and viento. El fin de semana viento tambien.

1. Family (I'm describing a royal family)

Los reyes una familia pequeña. Los abuelos son viejos. Ellos tienen un hijo. él hijo tiene una esposa. Ellos tienen dos hijas. Las hijas son jovenes. Tambien, ellas tienen el pelo rubio.

1. I'm a real estate agent

La casa tiene siete habitaciones. Hay un baño. La cocina cerca del baño. El comedor es alrededor de la cocina. El comedor tiene siete sillas y un mesas

1. I have to buy school supplies in a school

Muy buenos dias. Mucho gusto mi llamo es vincinte. Yo soy un alumno de pittsburgh. ¿Tu tienes materiales escolares? Yo tengo la clase de matematicas. Yo necesito tener una calculadora. Yo tengo la clase de español. Yo necesito tener una computadora. ¿Cuanto cuesta? ¡Gracias!

Don't forget the punctuation also goes at the beginning of the sentence and the "i" in "día" has an accent mark over it.

Yo me llamo Vincente.

It seems strange to me that a weatherman would say "Mucho gusto" since he is not actually meeting any of his viewers. Therefore I have taken it out. Also remember that when saying "My name is..." your options are as follows: "Soy...", "Mi nombre es...", and "Yo me llamo...".

Hoy es lunes.

This is fine, good job.

La fecha de hoy es el 13 (trece) de enero del 2014 (dos mil catorce).

"Enero" means "January", "Diciembre" means "December". Right now your sentence reads "The date is 13 of January of December". You will need to pick just one month or else the sentence does not make sense. In my correction above I chose January for you.

Son las once y media por la mañana.

Don't forget to specify what time of day (AM or PM). AM = por la mañana, PM = "por la noche".

Hace mal tiempo. Hace frío y viento. El fin de la semana hará viento también.

Once again: don't forget accent marks ("frío", "también"), never mix Spanish and English together (I replaced "and" with "y"), and don't forget that in order to be a complete sentence you must use a verb (I added "hará" or "will have" to your last sentence).

My suggestion: La familia real de los monarcas es pequeña.

Your sentence: Los abuelos son viejos.

My suggestion: Los abuelos son de edad avanzada.

Ellos tienen un hijo. - This is fine, I have no suggestion.

Your sentence: él hijo tiene una esposa. Ellos tienen dos hijas. Las hijas son jovenes. Tambien, ellas tienen el pelo rubio.

My suggestion: Su hijo tiene esposa y dos hijas jovenes y rubias.

I'm not sure if it's a conversation, but it sounds like a robot... something more natural would be able to be:

Muy buenos días. Mucho gusto, me llamo Vicente, y soy un alumno de Pittsburgh. ¿Tienes el material escolar que necesitas? Para clase de matemáticas necesito una calculadora, y para clase de español un ordenador ¿Cuánto cuesta? Gracias.

In number four, you have some of the same problems as in number one.

I don't think you will hear the expression "muy buenos días" very often. Just "buenos días" is more normal, especially with someone you are just meeting.

Since this is an encounter with a sales person, and not an introduction, I would leave off the "mucho gusto". Also, it is not normally necessary to use the subject pronouns. The verb person and number is designated by the conjugated verb form. Again, when stating your name, it is "me llamo Vincente", without the "es", and using "me", not "mi". Literally, you are saying "I call myself Vincente", not "my name is Vincente". When talking of your occupation, the article "un" is ommited. "Soy abogado, soy piloto, soy recepcionista".

Buenos días. Me llamo Vincente. Soy alumno de Pittsburgh. ¿Tienes material escolar? Tengo la clase de matemáticas. Necesito tener una calculadora. Tengo la clase de español. Necesito tener una computadora. ¿Cuanto cuesta? ¡Gracias!
