We are looking for someone to correct the Spanish sentences. Contact me if you are interested in helping others to learn Spanish. Please help each other with corrections as you are able. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words!

No puedes vencer tu miedo por ridiculizarlo (aunque es muy ridículo). Necesitas respetarlo, estudiarlo y, lo que es más importante, saber la razón real de tu miedo. Después de hacer esto, y sólo después de hacer esto, ya no tendrás miedo.
You cannot overcome your fear by ridiculing it (no matter how ridiculous it is). You need to respect it, study it and, most importantly, figure out the actual reason behind your fear. Then, and only then, you will no longer be afraid.
Here's a real story. I was mortally afraid of spiders when I was younger, to the extent where I'd spend the whole day thirsty just because I'd seen a spider run by the water jug.
Three months in biology practical class with a live specimen, and boom went my fear. I actually picked and flicked a spider off my desk a while ago (we have way too many of them in our house, I think). Nothing like getting over fear
