difícilmente ( dee-fee-seel-mehn'- teh )

adverb ( with difficulty )

We are looking for someone to correct the Spanish sentences. Contact me if you are interested in helping others to learn Spanish. Please help each other with corrections as you are able. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words!

Although he's had a good collegiate career, it will be difficult for Pedro to play basketball in the pro league. He's too short.

2. Mi nuevo gerente se sale por la tangente tan a menudo que dificilmente se sabe qué es lo que quería decir en el principio.

My new manager goes off on tangents so often that it's hard to tell what it is he wanted to say in the first place.

With difficulty, I can write when I suffer from writer's block, but the quality is not very good. I still keep writing, because I believe that if you don't write, you aren't a writer. If you aren't a writer, how can you have writer's block?

Dificilmente puedo escribir cuando padezco bloqueo del escritor, pero la calidad no es muy buena. Sin embargo no dejo de escribir, porque creo que si no escribes, no seas un escritor. Si no eres un escritor, ¿cómo puedes padecer bloqueo del escritor?

Writer's Block

I think I butchered the subjunctive up there... Would appreciate some help.

I vote for you, I can't do anything with this word either.. - annierats, Jan 8, 2014
Helado, great post with the cool ironic twist at the end! Regarding subjunctive use I can frame the question but not provide an answer, hopefully someone will. - dennywells, Jan 8, 2014
Although "creo que" woud trigger the subjunctive on "escribir" and possibly "ser", "si", used as "if" would preclude it's use. - dennywells, Jan 8, 2014
"Sin embargo" would be a better fit than "todavia":) - dennywells, Jan 8, 2014
Thanks for the tip, danny :) - Helado_eclectico, Jan 8, 2014

Hablo español difícilmente, pero cerveza ayuda.

*This seems.....odd. Like I should have a "con" prior to "difícilmente." I look forward to the corrections.
