Global Warming?

Global Warming?

I know many Americans are very upset about the idea of global warming (I personally am not), but are people in Mexico or Spain also concerned?

Is this just some sort of American idea, or are there different countries that are concerned?

Gracias

Yes, and alot of the evidence is very dubious. And money, money, money is needed. - annierats, Jan 5, 2014

I guess the few people that existed during the last ice-age caused its demise. - ian-hill, Jan 5, 2014

Does Global Warming even exist? I've been reading that most of it has been either blown way out of proportion, or made up entirely. Do you agree with this, or do you think that Global Warming exists?

Gracias

Some of the evidence appears to have been engineered to fit. Not a very scientific method. - annierats, Jan 6, 2014
Exactly my point annierats! There is a lot of scientific evidence that Global Warming (if anything) should be Global Cooling. Not Warming. - 00ffada9, Jan 6, 2014

If you read the science, and disregard the political motivation regarding this subject ,you will find sufficient evidence to make your own decision.

It is no longer "Global warming" it is now "climate change" the next time it will be called "climate confusion".

Last year I had the opportunity to attend the annual Montreal Protocol discussion of the United Nations held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Montreal Protocol has everything to do with global warming. If anyone is interested I would be happy to share my first hand experiences of what the governmental leaders of each country present had to say about the issue. So let me know if you want me to talk about it and I sure will! I just don't want to waste time writing a whole bunch about the subject if no one is interested.

This is not something that just concerns the USA, nor Mexico, nor Spain. It's about the whole world. Global.

But the truth is that we don't know if the world is heating up or if we're going to have another ice-age.

- annierats, Jan 6, 2014

Only fifty years ago, people were worried about the new ice age about to freeze the earth. Now we are worried about the Earth getting hotter. Has anyone noticed that people like NASA don't talk much about global warming? If it was such a big issue, wouldn't they be trying to fix it?

NASA doesn't do much of anything nowadays...

Thanks for all the info everybody! One last thought... how do you say Global Warming in Spanish. Do you use a literal translation, or is there a specific word(s) for it.

The climate has been changing on this planet for the past five billion years. I see no reason for it to stop now.

THAT is a problem. Some people make it out to be more severe than it actually is, but it is a health hazard in many areas. - 00ffada9, Jan 14, 2014

It's a shame that political agendas have obscured scientific understanding. I imagine the Scandinavian countries must be concerned, being so close to the north pole.

Not from a Spanish country, but you did just say "are different countries concerned".

If you mean concern on the government level, I am not too sure about that (aren't any obvious signs of improvement). If you mean whether the people are concerned, yes, they are. At least, once they actually understand how global warming affects the world around us. Very few people, unfortunately, seem to do.

Speaking from a "third world perspective'', where it doesn't matter a lot what you think until you manage to pull your economy together. On both personal and national levels.
