Mandarin Speaking Chinese in Peru

Question

Were any of the Chinese immigrants to Latin America back in the day Mandarin speakers? I ask this only because the articles about it that I've seen so far on this topic still have me confused as to whether or not there were some Mandarin Speakers; along with the Cantonese majority. If I already asked this question, pardon me for forgetting. The reason I keep asking questions about immigration to Latin America is because I want to know more these days about some of the lesser known immigrant cultures as well as native cultures in Latin America.
