I would guess that this depends on the location the same as in English. The seasons fall on different months in the Northern and Southern hemispheres and since Spanish speaking countries are located in both there would be the same problem as with USA and Australia

Primavera - Spring.
The Spring months in Spanish are marzo, abril, and mayo. (March, April, and May). Spring in Spanish is "la primavera. It even depends on which place it is, like Spain or Venezuela.
