how do you say Cadaqu´s?

Hello, I have searched for a thread and can't find one for this.

I was corrected yesterday when I pronounced Cadaqués as it is written, with the accent on the "E". A friend told me that was wrong and pronounced it " ca-DA´-kays"

I checked Forvo and Howjsay and they both pronounce it the way I said it. Forvo states that the pronunciation is from a person who speaks Catalan.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art has some Dali vocab on their website, they pronounce it the second way.

Any Catalan and Castillian speakers that can help would be appreciated. Thanks

I can assure you that both pronunciations are correct, Catalan and Castilian. I personally would pronounce it in Castilian slightly different on the final "qués" because I'm from Spain and the user that submitted the sound is from Mexico.

No. Maybe it's because I already know how it must be pronounced but.. I hear both pronunciations in that website like: ca-da-KES. With accent in the last syllable. - RelaxingCup, Dec 17, 2013
