To learn how to form verbs in the Imperfect tense, one can just consult a verb conjugation chart. There is one available here at Spanish Dict. Just click on the word "conjugate" at the top of the screen. The Imperfect Tense is a lot easier to learn than the Present Tense. The only thing that is unusual or different concerning the Imperfect Tense is that the first person singular verb conjugation is the same as the third person singular verb conjugation. This means that one, for the sake of clarity, might have to add the subject noun or pronoun more often when forming sentences in Spanish in the Imperfect tense.

The imperfect tense is pretty easy to form. AR verbs end in aba, and ER/IR verbs end in ía.

For example: Hablar Yo hablaba Tú hablabas El/Ella/Usted hablaba Nosotros hablábamos Vosotros hablabais Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes hablaban

Comer: Yo comía Tu comías El/Ella/Usted comía Nosotros comíamos Vosotros comíais Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes comían
