Which Spanish
Hi everyone, i have just joined the site as i have decided to try and learn another language. About time as im now 50. I need to know is this best for Spanish (Spain) as i seem to keep getting Latin America sites and dont want that as i only really travel to Europe for holidays..Thanks in advance for any tips.

Spanish is Spanish Rob, welcome to the forum. There is so little difference contrary to what you may have heard. This is an excellent learning site for both. Once you get into speaking with idiomatic expressions you may run into problems but by that point you should have a good handle on nuances.Try to get involved with natives of Spain in the chats. Even with peninsular Spanish you are going to find many little differences but it really isn't much worse than some of the things that happen in English.
Mexican Spanish and Spain Spanish are like US English and British English. There are lots of differences but if you know one you can, for the most part, understand the other. As Mainer said its in the slang and idiomatic expressions that they vary the most.
By the way. I was 52 when I started. I think it is harder for me at this age but what can one do about it? Nothing. So plow ahead.
