el placer es mío, gracias por la nota :) - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 6, 2013
Hi, Kiwi-Girl. I watched your latest version again! It's more than excellent! Bravo! Would you please add one more thing to it? How to read "US$100", "EUR200", "JP¥300", "AUD400" in Spanish? And what's the shortened form for "1000 pesos"? - joygogo, Dec 14, 2013

Kiwi: I can't do large numbers, I always lose track when people talk in large numbers and have to ask them to write things down.

I also feel unsure how to say for example :

104 .000 (one hundred and four thousand). ¿ciencuatromil ? as opposed to

400.000 ( ¿cuatrocientosmil, I think ?)

I don't want to offer fourhundredthousand when I mean onehundredandfour thousand ...

maybe and idea for your site? - annierats, Dec 8, 2013
I share part of your problem. I don't know when to put an 'y' and when not to. I would say "ciento cuatro mil" and "cuatrocientos mil" for you two examples. - gringojrf, Dec 8, 2013
Thanks Gring, I also think the cuatrocietosmil works.. But, under stress,whatis the 104.000_ - annierats, Dec 8, 2013
Well done Annie, just remember that you only use 'cien' when it's exactly '100' so it's ciento cuatro mil (with spaces between each one) and the last way is good apart from one space between the cuatrocientos and the mil ;) - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 9, 2013
I just found this nifty site for big numbers that you might like to bookmark - http://www.numeros-escritos.com.ar just remember not to put in any decimal points or anything as it seems to confuse it lol - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 9, 2013
Thanks Kiwi, I'll try to look it up, when I have time, I'm really bad at following links.. - annierats, Dec 9, 2013

Thanks Kiwi, I'll try it later, problem was I had to say 104.000 over the phone.. Without confusion. International phonecalls,not on Skype... - annierats, Dec 9, 2013
The trouble is, you only need the big numbers rarely, but then it's usually very importat. - annierats, Dec 9, 2013

Dear Kiwi-Girl,

Thank you very much for offering us such a good learning lesson. I watched it very carefully and found there might be some typos in it. I hope you wouldn't mind if I point them out here; meanwhile, I have some questions about it.

(1) On page 12 or 12/43, there is a typo.

twenty-one ventiuno --> veintiuno

(2) 20/43, dos mil = two thousand, 2000

I just want to make sure if it is unnecessary to add "es" at the end of "mil". Is its usage just like English number when we talk about multiple thousands?

(3) 20/43 and for years...

1914 = mil novecientos catorce;

2014 = dos mil catorce

Can I say diecinueve catorce and veinte catorce respectively?

(4) 26/43 There is a typo.

1926 = mil novecientos veintidós --> mil novecientos veintiséis

(5) 31/43 Here are your answers!

You give ciento for "100". But the photo "Los números" you post here on your question above says cien for "100".

(6) 31/43 On the same page, it shows that "mil" for "1.000", but "un millón" for "1.000.000" . So, when I say "1.000.000", I need to add an "un" in front of "millón", but I don't need to add an "un" before "mil" if I refer to "1.000"--is that right?

(7) 32/43 I have to tell you the listening game is wonderful! Gracias!

(8) 36/43 There are two typos.

el tercer día (the fourth day --> the third day)

la tercera vez (the fourth day --> the third time)

(9) 37/43 Ordinal Number Abbreviations

How can I get the sign for the very small o or a on the upper-right corner of 1 for primero or primera?

(10) 43/43 And if you get stuck...

There are only the above five words on this page, it is not a complete sentence. What do you want to say next?

awesome thanks so much, some of them I'd already fixed, I'm not sure if you downloaded the lesson or had started your notes before but thank you so much, I really appreciate the proofreading help, hopefully they're all fixed not but I've added quite a few - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 12, 2013
more pages to that lesson and some notes of clarification for the other points that you've raised (which will hopefully answer your questions) so if you have time and would like to proof read it again with all the revisions and new bits that would be - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 12, 2013
super chevere. :) - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 12, 2013
(that was 'fixed now' not 'fixed not' lol - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 12, 2013
I've watched it again! That's as perfect as can be!! I can't remember so much at a time, so I will review it several times. You're a very great teacher who tries every possible way to help us and even the pictures you use are great, too! - joygogo, Dec 13, 2013
Gracias Chica :) - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 13, 2013
btw, I have since added a bit more about fractions and fractions in cooking, etc, I'll think I'll stop now though or this thing is going to get bigger than Ben Hur lol - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 13, 2013
