I would say: 'Fregar el suelo' or 'pasar el trapo/mopa/paño'

Please do not use the mop on the floor: por favor no pases el trapo/la mopa/ el mocho por el suelo - AitaFM, Dec 5, 2013

I have heard trapeando (ei piso, suelo) used. I think this is a slag term derived from trapo (cloth, rag). Anyone know if this is a correct word or term?

This is a correct term, but Trapear (fregar el piso con un trapo) is no more slang than To mop (clean the floor with a mop).

Thank you for the clarification. I had the spelling wrong, hence my confusion. - dennywells, Dec 5, 2013

Trapear is correct, at least here in baja.
