Straight Jacket Verb

Straight Jacket Verb

Hola!!

Does anybody know if there is a way in Spanish to say "straight jacket" but as a verb. For example, "they are straight-jacketing us with their policies". I guessed I could say "restringir" or "limitar" but I wondered if there was another way.

Gracias!

The Spanish term "camisa de fuerza" is equivalent to the English noun "straight jacket". Due to the Spanish equivalent having a preposition in it, it seems that it would be fairly awkward to try to use it as a verb in Spanish. I would probably look at the possibility of rephrasing the sentence in which you want to use "straight jacket". Maybe say, "put in a straight jacket" instead. Or use a synonym (close in function to a straight jacket) like annierats has suggested.
