Niceties - frases de cortesía

Hi all / Hola a todos,

Acabo de dar mi cuento (bastante tarde) que no tengo suficiente vocabulario haber especialmente educado (en el sentido de ¨polite¨)

I´ve just realized that my vocab is not adequate to speak politely as I´d prefer.

Me gustaría muchísmo escuchar tus sugerencias para equivalentes de los debajos.

Yes, I´d like some (café etc) if it´s not too much trouble. Cómo se dice esto?

That´s very nice of you to say? Cómo se expresa eso?

Thanks for taking me in (putting me up) Y esto?

If anyone could think of some other nice phrases a guest might use beyond the normal please and thank you, I´d love to hear them and see how many I can incorporate.

One thing I will add to the great answers you have gotten so far and while I let your question stew a little. In Mexico, when you are offered something, it is considered inpolite to say no. So even if you just ate five minutes ago you accept and eat, this goes for everything from a cookie to coffee to a full meal.

It is Annie. Interesting comment on the quesadillas. When I think of a plain one, it is just cheese. Any plainer than that and one doesn´t have a quesadilla. You´ve got a tortilla ;) - rogspax, Nov 28, 2013

Roger, it means "have a great time". And after you become friends with people, you can be less formal and replace "Es Ud. muy amable" with "Eres buena onda". And don´t take street taxis in DF , only "taxi de sitio" - 005faa61, Nov 28, 2013

Here are a few polite phrases that I often use:

I am glad to see you today. Me alegra verte hoy.

You are so nice. Eres tan agradable.

I enjoy being with you. Me gusta estar contigo.

Glad to hear. Me alegra oírlo.

I had a good time with you. Pasé un buen tiempo contigo.

I cannot forget you. No te puedo olvidar.

Good luck to you. I agree that being nice goes a long way!

I usually say: ' Gracias por sus palabras tan ambables.' ( this may not be correct?)

'Unas gracias muy especiales por ser tan amable' ( useful alrounder)

' Claro que me gustaría tomar un café contigo. ' ( Just a variant, to sound enthusiastic about yet more coffee)
