Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

1. Cuando el hombre le propuso matrimonio a su novia en la pantalla gigante del estadio todos pensabámos que era muy romántico, pero cuando ella demoró en contestar la situación se convirtió incómoda.
When the man proposed to his girlfriend on the jumbotron of the stadium we all thought it was very romantic, but when she hesitated in answering, the situation became awkward.
2. Mis amigos se están demorando demasiado; si no llegan pronto nos cancelarán la reservación.
My friends are running too late; if they don't show up soon, they'll cancel our reservation.
