"Igual" in text

I just told someone in Spanish what something was like for me. What does "igual" mean? It's just "Igual" as a response and nothing more. Does it mean 'same here' or 'it doesn't matter'?

Igual and Igualmente usually means likewise(same here)in basic conversation... Por ejemplo.....
