el mes próximo or el próximo mes

When I looked up the word "próximo" in the SD, I got phrases like

el próximo año,

el próximo domingo,

el próximo vez (x),

(correction!)==> la próxima vez, and

el mes próximo.

I would like to know which one do you use more often, "el mes próximo" or "el próximo mes"?

El próximo mes.

Pero yo diría, "el mes que viene".

Por cierto, es "la próxima vez", porque "vez" es una palabra femenina.

Oops! I didn't notice that error at all. Thank you for pointing out my spelling mistake. - joygogo, Nov 10, 2013

Both word orders are correct: el próximo mes / el mes próximo. The difference is that the second word has the emphasis of the phrase, although the first variant is the most used.

El mes entrante is the only variente used. El entrante mes is not incorrect but since we never hear this word order, it sounds strange.

That's an interesting observation. I've heard próximo on either side, but now that you mention it, entrante only after the noun. Never noticed that before, but entrante+noun sounds really odd. - rogspax, Nov 10, 2013

I think you could use either. Or : El mes entrante, o el mes que viene, como dice Tosh.

Thanks! Let me take notes here: "entrante" is "incoming (adj.)"; "que viene" is "that comes". - joygogo, Nov 10, 2013
Joygo,all are used simply for '' next month'' even if the meaning varies a tiny bit. - annierats, Nov 10, 2013
