Tronete - meaning

Can someone please tell me what "el tronete" is? I have found it in the following sentence, but cannot find a translation:

Por lo que la Pelosi veía el cielo abierto: atacaba a Bush y tenía el tronete asegurado para las siguientes elecciones.

Many thanks.

Hi there! I've never heard (or read) the word tronete before. My guess is that "tronete" here is a diminutive for "trono", which means 'throne'. 'throne' might be being used metaphorically to express that he had his political position assured.

Not related with the previous, another use for "tronete" comes to mind: toilet.

Correct my English, please

Yes, Cup may have it right. I do not know the meaning of the word either but, I believe Pelosi refers to Nancy Pelosi, congresswoman from California, and the quote is about events leading up to the US war with Iraq.
