Lo que quieren es que se entiendan, utilizando las tecnolojías nuevas.

or, simply, Quieren entenderse por uso de las tecnolojías nuevas.

My approach would be to correct the English first. There are two possibilities here. This is the first one:

They want that, they can understand each other using the new technologies.

They want that. They can understand each other using the new technology.

I first divided the sentence into two sentences because the first three words made a complete sentence. Then I would translated it into Spanish (building on your attempt):

Quieren que puedan comprenderse usando las nuevas technologias.

*Quieren esta. Puedan comprender el otra cuando están usando la technologia nueva. *

Possibility number two:

They want that they can understand each other using the new technologies.

They want to be able to use the new technology to understand each other.

The original sentence is a little vague. I think that I would need more information about the sentence before reading the sentence. My perception of the first sentence led me to my modification. Now I translate into Spanish:

Quieren que puedan comprenderse usando las nuevas technologias.

Quieren poder usar la technologia nueva comprender el otro.
