Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.
Examples:
1. Mi abuela era muy religiosa. Siempre se despertaba muy temprano y rezaba durante una hora como poco.
My grandmother was very religious. She would always wake up early and pray for at least an hour.
2. En la escuela nuestra maestra nos ponía a recitar las tablas de multiplicar.
In school our teacher would have us recite the multiplication tables.

Difference between orar y rezar:
"Rezar" means to recite a prayer, while "orar" means to pray. You use "rezar" when you say the Lord's Prayer. You use "orar" when you are talking or having a conversation with God.
You use "rezar" when you are repeating a prayer, and you use "orar" when you are not following a certain "formula" or "steps" by reciting prayers. "Orar" is a relaxed conversation with God, where you thank Him, praise Him, ask Him for forgiveness, and ask Him to help you with your certain needs.

"Antes de leer mi Biblia, yo oro al Padre para que me dé discernimiento sobre lo que voy a leer."
