Help with conjugation!
Hello!
I am studying for my Spanish midterm and I have come across a question that I have been having problems with. I am aware of how to use conjugations and I have studied the chart, but this question has me stumped. It is below:
Ana y yo _______ español.
a. estudia b. estudiamos c. estudian d. estudio
I am torn between B. and D. Would you simply use "estudio" because of the word "yo"? Or would you use "estudiamos" because there are two people (we)?

Do Ana and I make one or two people? Decide this and you have your answer.
If this constitutes something that relates to one person, the "yo" or "tú" tense applies. But because it lists "Ana and I", it is referring to two people, which invokes the "nosotros/nosotras" clause. Thus, the proper answer is that you should use "estudiamos", answer "b".
---The third person,singular/plural + the first person, singular /plural = The first person, plural:
Ana y io / Ellos y io / Ellas y nosotras hablamos español
---The second person,singular /plural + the first person,singular /plural = the first person,plural:
Tu y io / Vosotros y io / Vosotros y nosotros hablamos español
