Spain entry requirement

Hi, I am a student in United States and hold a valid African Passport. I just have a single question about economic means of support for my short stay in spain. Will be glad if you could find some time and answer it for me please. -Is it alright if the inviting friend is sponsoring my stay in spain economically, I mean is it allowed? Am a student so obviously I do not earn much. The inviting person can provide his bank statements, etc as a proof along with a letter stating that he has agreed to bear my expenses. Thanks for your time!

This is something that probably could only be answered by the embassy of Spain or a consulate. Here is a link to those consulates.
