Question

This post is nothing more than an excuse to post a food item that you really like .Post in Spanish and English .You may include a picture,in fact ,it is encouraged.The motivation for this is simple.Right now I would love a chorizo and egg burrito. Your turn.

Roti Canai - Roti Canai

Roti is an Indian bread , there are many types of Roti, this is a Malaysian style with

a curry which is scooped up with the Roti , quite delicious , cheap and filling.

En Malasia mi desayuno más favorito es (Roti canai ) pan con curry.

In Malaysia my most favourite breakfast is Roti canai . Sometime spelt ,"Chanai ".

On to roti canai, one of my favourite. Mostly found in Mamak's (or Indian-Muslim) restaurants and also available at most Malay stalls. Its main ingredient is wheat and best served with fish curry or dhal's (a type of peas) gravy. For those who are familiar with Indian cuisine, it is also called 'parata'.

'Roti' (literally means 'bread') is pronounced similar to 'row-tea'. Now that is easy, isn't it?

'Canai' is a bit harder to explain here, so let's split it into 'ca' and 'nai'. For 'ca', I have to use the word 'charcoal' here. Take the sound of 'char' because that is the sound of 'ca'.

Para mi, una barra de pan,recien horneado, y un trozo de queso cheddar, otro de queso manchuego y on poco de queso azul , un poquito de queso de cabra y porque no, un queso de oveja también..Con una botella de vino tinto, claro.

A loaf of newly baked bread, a slice of Cheddar cheese , another of Manchuego, a little bit of goat's cheese and , why not, a sheep's cheese.. Obviously accompanied by a bottle of red wine.
