Need help communicating with spanish housekeeper

I need to tell them not to clean the shower and it's been 30+ years since I took Spanish in school. Using my OLD Spanish/English dictionary I know the verb to clean is limpio or limpiar and it says the word for shower is chubasco. So, I think it would be No limpiar el chubasco por favor. How am I doing?? Please correct any errors. I will not be home when they come so I need to leave a note saying this.

chubasco is a rain shower. A shower is a ducha or regadera depending on where you are. so your sentence should read

Por favor, no limpies la ducha/regadera.

Do you know where the housekeepers are from ?. Ducha is probably a better pick because all it's definitions are related to a shower or water in some way. (Colombian Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Venezuelan Spanish)

But regadera has many other meanings, and also different meanings depending on the country of origin of the housekeepers.

estar como una regadera, to be as mad as a hatter (peninsular Spanish) estar como una regadera, to be crazy (España)

I'd write, "Por favor, no limpiar (limpie) la ducha"

(Why don't you want them to clean the shower ?)

If you want a book, I highly recommend Household Spanish by William C. Harvey. The copy I have is the second edition from 2005, published by Barron's Educational Series, Inc with a website www.barronseduc.com

The price on my copy is $12.99 USA, Canada $15.99.
